Body Mind Wing Chun is a friendly class dedicated to teaching this amazing martial art, sharing the seemingly un-believable benefits with anyone wanting to learn
Wing Chun is a unique martial art, taught in a traditional manner, yet still remaining functional for modern times. Students will learn the traditional side, such as the solo forms and many partner exercises as well as how to apply these in modern scenarios. The principles and strategies you learn will teach you how to overcome bigger and more aggressive opponents. Wing Chun will be a physical challenge, but will also train your mind in terms of how to improve your life using these unique practices.
The Wing Chun forms
The solo forms taught at Body Mind Wing Chun are not merely "empty" repetitions of movement, nor are we defending the attacks of an imaginary opponent. Our forms are practiced so you can develop a deep awareness of what's happening internally within the body and mind. As your awareness deepens, so will the ability to release both body and mind from unnecessary tension. The symbiosis of release and awareness is endless, and will allow you to produce effortless power, even under great stress.
Forms practice will improve your posture and the health of the spine, as well as gaining freedom in all of the joints in the body. Whilst essential for self-defence, it will benefit how you go about your daily life, giving you a greater range of movement and mobility.
Mentally, forms work allows you to exist in the present moment. Modern life is full of distractions, pulling us into past traumas or dwelling stressfully about future events. Working the forms will grant you freedom from obsessive thinking, calming the mind to achieve peace and tranquility.

Partner Work
There are many aspects of partner training, from testing the movements learned in the forms under pressure to understanding how movements can be applied. You will learn how you don't need to rely on your partner for balance, but can use your own "state" to effect and disrupt the balance for your partner.
The Chi Sau exercises are taught in full, from single sticking hands drills (Dan Chi Sau), to rolling arms (Poon Sau), moving on to free Chi Sau, a non-prearranged exchanged designed to enhance and sharpen your sensitivity and reflexes.
All practiced in a fun and safe environment, partner work can teach you a lot about how interact not just with a training partner, but with the world around you.
